Kid Christmas Craft

Children’s craft as gifts (using a cookie cutter)

People love to receive a child’s home made gift or card, here are some ideas using a Christmas tree or star cookie cutter: make biscuits, short bread or gingerbread, wrap and give as gifts to special people in your child’s life; cut clay hanging stars out of das (a fast drying clay from craft shops) and decorate by pushing on beads before they dry (a hole, loop and string creates a lovely Christmas tree decoration); design your own cards, cut out a Christmas tree shape (using the cookie cutter as a stencil), mount onto another colour card (and stick on stars too). Baking and card making are lovely Christmas family activities.  Bake miniature Christmas cakes (little tins can be found in cooking supply shops). The gift of giving, from your child’s own hands!

Recycle old cards into gift tags

Keep old Christmas cards, each year sit down with your child to cut out circles to make gift tags (or again use the Christmas tree cookie cutter as a stencil. The child can help to cut, hole punch and thread some wool through the hole. This is a great way to prepare for Christmas together, and recycle old cards for a more sustainable planet.

The gift of giving is special: start preparing and making Christmas presents and cards early, the rush may make you buy (not make) due to lack of hours!

Christmas craft ideas will appear in the  Skip to my Lou NEWSLETTER during this seasonal time and then in Article Posts.
